Bracing Requirements
When do you need bracing?
No bracing needed: Square or rectangular planters with 4 panels, each side under 47.25", with no straight joiners
Bracing required: Any panel exceeding 47.25" width, or when using straight joiners between parallel panels
78.75" panels: Require 1 large anchor post + 1 anchor set
Bracing Options:
Universal Bracing Strap: Works for panels up to 47.25" wide (used between parallel straight joiners)
Universal Brace (Turnbuckle Style): For panels wider than 47.25" - hooks to straight joiners
Large Anchor Post + Anchor Set: Alternative for wider panels or added stability
Q: What's included with each panel? A: Each panel is sold individually. Connectors, corners, and bracing are sold separately so you can customize your exact configuration.
Q: How do I calculate how many panels I need? A: Measure your desired planter dimensions. For a simple rectangular bed, you'll need 2 panels for length + 2 panels for width, plus 4 closed corners and straight joiners if stacking height.
Q: How long does the rust patina take to develop? A: Typically 3-6 months depending on your climate and weather exposure. Wet climates rust faster than dry climates.
Q: Can I use these on a rooftop or patio? A: Yes! These are perfect for hard surface installations. The rust patina is stable and won't stain once fully developed.
Q: What's the soil capacity? A: Varies by configuration. A 4'×8'×15.75" bed holds approximately 32 cubic feet of soil (about 1.2 cubic yards).
Need Help Planning Your Project?
We know all these choices can be overwhelming! Our team is here to help you design the perfect configuration and ensure you have all the parts you need.
We purchased three of these, each with 3 segments for a 36in ring. The best feature is the powder coating; it seems very durable. However the gauge of the metal is not very thick and the limited pre-bending along with the connection method made it impossible to get a true circle. I was so disappointed, I took a two day break after installing the first before completing the next two knowing they were not going to turn out as hoped. All in all, they are functional and doing their job-- just not beautiful. And the cost? Seems too high for the ultimate value.
