Kwanzan Flowering Cherry Tree – Double Pink Spring Blooms

Kwanzan Flowering Cherry Tree – The Most Spectacular Spring Bloom in the Landscape

Few trees stop people in their tracks like the Kwanzan Flowering Cherry (Prunus serrulata 'Kwanzan') in full bloom. Each spring, its arching branches erupt in dense clusters of large, double-petaled deep pink blossoms — so full and lush they practically glow. Celebrated in Japanese cherry blossom festivals worldwide, Kwanzan is the gold standard of ornamental flowering trees, and it’s just as breathtaking in a home landscape.

Why Gardeners Choose Kwanzan Cherry

• Unrivaled Spring Bloom: Large, double-petaled deep pink flowers in dense clusters — one of the most dramatic floral displays of any tree.
• Year-Round Interest: Glossy green summer foliage transitions to rich bronze-orange in fall; attractive bark provides winter structure.
• Adaptable & Hardy: Thrives in a range of soil types; tolerates urban conditions well.
• Vase-Shaped Form: Elegant upswept branching creates a graceful silhouette even without leaves.
• Landscape Versatile: Stunning as a specimen tree, street tree, or focal point in mixed borders.
