The edging can flex in and out but not up and down. You can gain a little bit of slope when weaving it subtly in and out as you go up a hill but if it were just installed straight up and down a steep slope, then yuo would end up with a corner sticking up at the end. You could however, cut that corner down at an angle with an angle grinder or metal cutting saw blade.
