Crimson Queen Japanese Maple – Red Laceleaf Tree

Crimson Queen Japanese Maple: Cascading Color for Your Garden

Give your garden a graceful focal point with Crimson Queen Japanese Maple (Acer palmatum var. dissectum 'Crimson Queen'). Finely cut, red laceleaf foliage and gently arching branches create a soft, cascading silhouette, followed by brilliant scarlet fall color. Plant it near a patio, along a garden path, or in a specimen bed where you can enjoy its intricate texture up close.

Why Choose Crimson Queen?

• Red laceleaf foliage adds rich color and delicate texture.
• A low, mounding, weeping form brings sculptural character to the landscape.
• Scarlet autumn foliage creates a striking seasonal finish.
• A distinctive accent for Japanese-inspired gardens, courtyards, and patio plantings.

Growing Zones & Mature Size

• USDA hardiness zones: 5–8 for in-ground growing.
• Mature size: Approximately 8–10 feet tall and 10–12 feet wide. Allow room for its spreading canopy.
• Light: Full sun to partial shade. Afternoon shade is preferable in hotter, southern growing areas.
• Soil: Moist, organically rich, slightly acidic, well-drained soil.

Choose Your Size

Select a 1–2 ft. (2G) or 2–3 ft. (2G) option. These are the offered plant sizes, not mature heights. Choose the size that suits your planting space and the initial presence you want in your garden.

Planting & Care

Choose a site that avoids hot, dry conditions. Keep soil consistently moist and use mulch to help retain moisture and keep roots cool. In warmer parts of zones 5–8, prioritize protection from intense afternoon sun: delicate new foliage can scorch during hot summers, especially when soil dries out. Foliage color and appearance vary with light and growing conditions.

Picture its flowing canopy beside your favorite sitting spot, adding soft texture through the growing season and a bright burst of color in fall. Select your preferred size to bring this red laceleaf Japanese maple into your landscape.
